Professor Carol
Pollock
Carol
is the Professor of Medicine at the University
of Sydney and Royal North
Shore Hospital.
Carol’s
research interests are centered on renal health and she is on the
Editorial Boards of several renal related journals. She has published
over 150 peer reviewed research publications in this area and also acts
as supervisor to a number of PhD students.
In
addition to her role as Director of the Kolling Foundation Carol is
Chairman of Research for the Northern Sydney
and Central Coast Area Health Service, Chairman of the Area Health
Advisory Council of Northern Sydney and Central Coast Area Health
Service. Carol holds several government appointments including member of
Hub Liaison Committees for Medical Research for both the Office of
Science and Medical Research and the Department of Health. Carol
is Chair of the Greater Metropolitan Clinical Taskforce, which
oversights clinical Networks in NSW and Chair of the Clinical Variation
Committee of the Health Efficiency Taskforce.
Past appointments
include being a member of the Executive Council of the International
Society of Nephrology and a member of the Ministerial Advisory Council
into Medical Research.
Professor Jonathan Morris
Jonathan is Professor of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology, Northern Clinical School
Kolling Institute of Medical Research.
Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and completed his Obstetric and Maternal Fetal Medicine sub specialty training in Sydney. He completed his PhD in Oxford. He took up the position of maternal fetal medicine specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital in 1998. Over the last 12 years he has built a pregnancy research group (PRaMM) that includes laboratory research, clinical trials and population health and health service research. Professor Morris is Associate Dean and Head of Northern Clinical School at the University of Sydney. He has served on the NHMRC Grant Review Panel for the past four years and was Deputy Chair in 2008. Professor Morris continues with an active high risk obstetric practice and is Chair of the High Risk Obstetric Advisory Group of the Perinatal Service Network in NSW.

Professor Robert Baxter
Professor Rob Baxter has been the Director of the Kolling
Institute of Medical Research since 1994, a position he took after almost
20 years in the Department of Endocrinology, at Royal
Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney.
Within the Kolling Institute Rob heads the Growth Research
group, one of the leading research teams internationally in studying the
endocrinology, biochemistry and cell biology of the insulin-like growth
factors (IGFs) and their binding proteins. He also has a long-standing
interest in diagnostics, and tests developed through his research are now
in clinical use internationally to diagnose growth disorders. He recently
established the Laboratory for Cellular and Diagnostic Proteomics in the
Kolling Institute, and is now involved in both cell biology and clinical
proteomic studies aimed at cancer diagnosis and disease biomarker
discovery.
Rob is Vice-president of the International Society for IGF
Research and since 2006 he has chaired the National Committee for
Biomedical Science of the Australian
Academy of Science.
