Established in 1920, Kolling Institute of
Medical Research is the oldest medical research institute in New South
Wales and the largest medical research group on campus.
One of
the leading centres of health and medical research in the Asia Pacific
region, the Kolling Institute is jointly affiliated with the University
of Sydney, through the Sydney Medical School, and Royal North Shore Hospital in the
Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health Service.
Kolling Institute research
focus is on "lifespan" conditions and our goal is to uncover the
basis of disease and translate our knowledge to the clinic for the
betterment of patient health and wellbeing.
In October 2008 Kolling
Institute researchers came together in the Kolling Building, a
visionary new research centre that serves as a vital catalyst for the
formation of new ideas, new collaborations and new discoveries.
